The National Youth Service, NYS, Recruitment 2023

MAY 2023 RECRUITMENT OF NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE RECRUITS (NYS)
  • The National Government in collaboration with the local government is hiring 30,000 youth across all the 47 counties in it’s revised program of the National Youth Service Program.Despite small changes in its roles and responsibilities;the program which has been operational since 2016 and has been playing a vital role in keeping jobless youth engaged in local activities as well as help them earn a monthly stipend for upkeep and personal needs.

The 30,000 youth will be engaged in the Nationwide planting of over 60 billion trees in the coming months as directed by the president.The NYS initiative absorbs youth  for a 2-year contract that is renewable subject to the government objectives there in.The NYS recruits enjoy first priority during Police and Military recruitments annually giving them an added advantage.The youth in Urban areas will be absorbed to the construction of Affordable Housing Units recently launched by the president and other government responsibilities and directives given.Applications must be received by Wednesday 10th May, 2023. The slots will be filled on First-Come basis.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE.

The 30,000 personnel are divided into two major categories, namely;

Supervisors (4,000)

Service officers (26,000)

REQUIREMENTS

The following are the requirements for various positions.

SERVICE OFFICERS:
•Must be of good conduct and responsible citizens
•At least form four level of education with a minimum of C- or equivalent
•Must have legible, neat handwriting
•Should be ready to work in any part of the country.
•Aged between 18 and 32 years old
•Must have a national identify card.
•Be fluent in kiswahili
•Must be available from May, 2023

(II)SUPERVISORS:
•Aged between 21 years and 35 years
• Must have a national identity card
•Fluent in the main local language/dialect
•Must have good communication (English and kiswahili)
•Evidence of Leadership skills/roles will be an added advantage
•Should have no criminal history.
•Must have a Diploma/Degree certificate.
•Must be able to work under little supervision.
•Must have good public relations.
