Trouble as Primary school Head Slaps JSS Teacher in Class

Trouble is brewing for a Primary School Head Teachers after he walked into class and slapped a Junior School (JSS) Teacher.

It is alleged that one Mr Dickens Omenda who is the Head of Nyanchoka DEB, in Nyamira County, walked to class and grabbed a JSS teacher; one Mr. Vincent Nyamanga. To the amusement of the learners present, the Head Teacher slapped him several times for arriving in school late.

The affected teacher was then rushed to hospital and his being treated after his ear drum was ruptured.

The incident has been condemned by stake holders in the education sector.

The case has already been reported to police.

Nyamira Kuppet Executive Secretary Lewis Nyakweba has equally condemned the incident and says the union will follow up the matter until justice is served to the affected teacher.

“Allow me to assure each one of you that we shall leave no stone unturned on this matter. Am in touch with the affected teacher.” Nyakweba said.

There have been frosty relationships between the Junior School Teachers and the Heads of Institutions. The Junior School teachers want to be independent with own administrators.

There are tussles too between the two teachers’ unions (Kuppet and Knut) with each claiming rightful membership of the Junior School teachers.
