TSC advertises 35,550 new vacancies for teachers – How to apply, requirements

The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has advertised 35,550 new vacancies in both post primary schools and primary schools together with replacement of teachers who have left the service through natural attritions.

9,000 of the recruited teachers will be posted to different secondary schools to assist in the 100 per cent transition policy which was initiated by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

1,000 teachers will be posted to primary institutions while 21,550 teachers on internships terms in secondary schools primary schools will get 4000 tutors on intern terms.

Teacher recruitment is done in accordance with the recruitment guideline issued by the Commission from time to time. The commission advertises the available vacancies and interested candidates submit the application forms to the County/Institutions where they would wish to be considered for employment.

To be employed by the Commission one must meet the following requirements;

1 Must be a Kenyan citizen
Must be 45 years of age and below
Must be registered as a teacher as stipulated in Section 23 of the Teachers Service Commission Act 2012.

B: Those registered but do not possess Certificates of Registration must attach a copy of online printout of TSC Number and original bank pay-in slip for teacher registration.

Original Professional and Academic Certificates which may include;
CPE/KCPE Certificate
KCE/KCSE Certificate
PTE Certificate
Diploma Certificate
Degree Certificate
School Leaving Certificate

How to Apply for the advertised posts

The teachers’ service commission does not accept paper applications. All their applications are only submitted through their online portal.

According to the TSC portal, all sections must be filled with the required information as prompted.

The applicants are also expected to scan and attach only the required documents. Only original documents should be scanned and uploaded.

For expatriate teachers, they are expected to attach a letter of clearance from the Ministry of Education Vetting Committee.

Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Teachers Service Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under ‘Careers or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than 16/12/2022.
