TSC announces 24,000 Internship Jobs: How to apply

In a notice on Tuesday, the Commission explained that the one-year program is meant to equip unemployed registered teachers with the skills by offering mentorship, coaching and exposure to practical experience.

The interns attached to Junior Schools will be eligible for a monthly Ksh.20,000 stipend which will be subject to statutory deductions.

TSC noted that the application portal will be opened on Tuesday, August 26 and closed on Monday, September 9, at midnight.

Further, the Commission cautioned applicants against fraudsters seeking to extort money from unsuspecting persons by purporting to assist in the recruitment process.

“Any fraudulent activity should be reported to the nearest TSC office or Teachers Service Commission headquarters or reported to the nearest police station,” the notice read in part.

Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Commission’s website www.tsc.go.ke under “Careers” or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than midnight of September 9, 2025.

Requirements for application

Any candidate applying for the post must be a Kenyan citizen, hold at least a diploma with a minimum mean Grade of C+ and C+ in two teaching subjects in KCSE or its equivalent.

Further, the applicant must be registered with the TSC.

Guidelines for application

According to the commission, manual applications will not be considered. Further, the applicant should be unemployed and must have a clean disciplinary record.

The candidates will also be required to present original academic and professional certificates for authentication.

These include a copy of Teacher registration certificate, a copy of the National ID card, two coloured passport-size photographs and a copy of the Kenya Revenue Authority Personal Identification Number (KRA PIN).

They must also have personal accident insurance cover for personal risks during the internship period.

“Successful candidates will be posted to serve at any junior school in the sub-county where they were interviewed or in any part of the county where the vacancy exists,” the Commission announced.
