NOTICE
(Updating of data on registered teachers not currently employed by the Teachers Service Commission)
The Teachers Service Commission, under Article 237(2) and (3) of the Constitution is mandated to;
i) Register trained teachers.
ii) Review the standards of education and training of persons entering the teaching service.
iii) Review the demand for and the supply of teachers.
iv) Advise the national government on matters relating to the teaching profession.
In addition, section 24 of TSC Act, 2012 stipulates that the Commission shall cause to be kept a register which shall contain;
i) The names and addresses of every teacher registered under the Act.
ii) The qualifications in respect of which the registration is granted.
iii) Such other particulars as may from time to time be prescribed by the Commission.
A register, kept under this section shall be a public document.
In line with this mandate, the Commission is undertaking a nationwide updating of data for registered teachers who are not currently employed by the Teachers Service Commission.
The purpose of this exercise is to update the existing records for effective teacher workforce planning including establishing the demand and supply of qualified teachers to inform teacher recruitment and related policies.
The required additional information includes; the teachers’ qualifications, subject specialization/combination, and level of training.
The updated data will be processed and stored in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act and the Privacy Notice of the Commission, which may be accessed at: https://www.tsc.go.ke/index.php/privacy-notice
Teachers targeted for submission of this information should provide their details online at www.tsc.go.ke under “Online services menu, teacher profile update” and also available on https://tsconline.tsc.go.ke/profile/teacher–profile/ by 16th March, 2026 midnight.

TEACHERS’ SERVICE COMMISSION

The Teachers Service Commission is undertaking a nationwide updating of data for registered teachers who are currently not in its employment.
The required data includes: Name; Gender; Ethnicity; National Identification Number; County and Sub- County of Origin; Addresses; Phone Number Qualifications; Subject specialization/combination; Level of training; and Disability as provided in the portal.
This data will be used for effective teacher workforce planning including establishing the demand and supply of qualified teachers to inform teacher recruitment and related policies.
The registered teachers that are currently not employed by the Commission are expected to make the following declaration upon submitting their details in the portal.
“I hereby give consent to the Teachers Service Commission to collect and process my personal data including my name, ethnicity, ID number, county and sub-county of origin, gender, academic qualifications, level of training; disability, and phone number without any expectation of employment or any benefit”.
In the portal, consent includes the following statements;
YES (I give consent for the collection and processing of my personal data)
NO (I don’t give consent for the collection and processing of my personal data)
