TSC interdicts Principal St Anne’s Makadara for turning away girls who reported late

The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has interdicted the Principal of St Anne’s Girls High School- Makadara in Nairobi for locking out students who reported late and not having cleared their school fees.

The school’s Principal Ms Veronica Muli faced backlash after students were left outside overnight due to unpaid fees. The students, many from distant counties such as Kisii, Mombasa, and Garissa, were left stranded outside the school gate until night hours due to incomplete payment of school fees.

A section of the students of St. Anne’s Girls’ School in Makadara who were locked out for failing to pay school fees and other minor requirements. The students had travelled from as far as Garisa.

A viral video shared by the Makadara Social Justice and Information Centre showed students sitting at the school gate late in the night.

“Students are stranded outside for lack of fees. Urgent action is needed,” the center posted.

Following the information that some of the students of St Anne’s girls secondary school had been left stranded outside the school, Makadara Constituency’s Member of PArliament Hon George Aladwa dispatched his team to the school and ordered the school management to allow the students.

“The guards were under strict orders from the principal, but the pressure forced a resolution,” the justice center confirmed.

St Annes secondary makadara’s principal Veronica Muli hides from cameras as she is grilled by TSC and Ministry of education Officials. She is accused of locking out girls out of school in the night for arriving late and failing to clear fees for this term.

On Wednesday morning, Education Officials accompanied by their TSC counterparts visited the school. The interrogated the Principal and later interdicted her. She will now face disciplinary action.
