Scoring Areas and Criteria

1. Professional Qualifications (Maximum Score: 5 Points)

Applicants are scored based on their academic qualifications, excluding teaching practice.

Points range from 2 to 5, depending on P1 certification levels.

Age of Applicant (Maximum Score: 20 Points)

Age is weighted to prioritize experienced and senior applicants.

Those aged 50 and above score 20 points, while younger applicants receive lower scores, down to a minimum of 5 points for ages 43 and below.

Length of Stay Since Qualification (Maximum Score: 70 Points)

The recruitment panel places a high value on applicants who have waited the longest since qualification.

Graduates from 2010 and earlier receive the maximum score of 70, with incremental reductions for each subsequent year of qualification, culminating in 14 points for 2024 graduates.

Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (CBC Upgrade) (Maximum Score: 5 Points)

A DPTE qualification offers an additional 5 points, emphasizing the importance of continuous professional development.

This scoring system ensures equitable treatment of candidates and aligns with the Teachers Service Commission’s (TSC) mandate to recruit qualified and experienced professionals for primary schools.
