TSC to Deploy More Junior School Teachers

More teachers will be deployed to junior secondary schools to alleviate the staffing shortage and enhance implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

The Teachers Service Commission) invited qualified primary school teachers to apply for redeployment to JSS.

As per the advert posted on its X account on January 13, primary school teachers eying the promotions should have a minimum mean grade of C+ in the KCSE examination. Applicants must also be serving as primary school teachers employed by the Commission.

“Applicants must also hold a diploma or a degree certificate in Education. Applicants must have a minimum grade of C+ in each of the teaching subjects or its equivalent,” the advert read, adding that applications must be submitted through the Commission’s portal.

With the rollout of Grade 9 this year, the Commission is pulling all the stops to ensure minimal disruption during learning.
