Youths urged to apply for the new Kazi Mtaani Jobs, Climate Workx

Youths are encouraged to apply for a six-month job program focused on climate work, similar to Kazi Mtaani. The government plans to hire over 113,000 young people across the country for important environmental and infrastructure projects.

Kennedy Mwangome, the Deputy County Commissioner for Narok Central, is leading the recruitment in his area and is urging local youths to apply online at crsp.go.ke. Applications opened on June 5 and will be accepted for 10 days.

Mwangome said, “We want all eligible young people to apply. This is a great opportunity to gain work experience while helping the environment and the community.”

Narok Central will have one of the largest groups selected, with 267 casual workers and 9 supervisors. This is due to the high number of informal settlements and vulnerable people in the area.

Rotich Charles, the County Director of Housing, explained that the program will focus on projects like roads, housing, and environmental work. Participants will do tasks such as planting trees, cleaning rivers, expanding drainage, and clearing roads.

They will also receive training from government officials. In total, Narok County will involve over 1,075 youths in this program, which aims to help those aged 18 to 35.

One youth from each household will be chosen, with priority given to those from low-income families. While this program is temporary, the government hopes it will provide income and help young people build a better future.

Mwangome added, “This is not just about earning money; it’s about giving young people a purpose and a role in making our environment stronger.”
