The Teachers Service Commission, TSC, has said teachers with medical conditions will be spared from the ongoing delocalization exercise. Also to be spared are those aged above 56 years and above. These revelations have been made public by the TSC boss Dr Nancy Macharia. The Commission has been transferring teachers, mostly school heads and principals, who have overstayed in their current work stations.

“In the iplementation of delocalisation, the commission has made a decision to exempt all teachers who are aged above 56. Teachers who have proven cases of health or medical conditions already reported to the commission have also been exempted from the transfers,” Ms Macharia told the National Assembly’s  Committee on Education when she appeared before it on Tuesday 16th April, 2019.

Dr Macharia reiterated the Commission’s resolve to push on with the DELOCALIZATION policy saying it promotes cohesion and national Cohesion. The TSC boss said, though, teachers who are physically challenged will also be spared. She explained that teachers who had sought reversal of their transfers had been given a hearing and the employer has so far dealt with the requests on case by case basis.
