KCSE 2024 Results- Fear grips 198 Schools over cheating cases
Fear has gripped several schools over cheating cases at the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, exams.
Few days before KCSE exam results is released, TSC KENYA has either demoted, interdicted or transferred notorious principals whose schools were involved in exams cheating last year.
After news of these disciplinary measures leaked, the anxiety that has gripped parents and teachers at the affected schools is enormous.
Kisumu girls’ Principal Evaline Odhiambo Kaimosi Girls has been demoted and transferred to Dudi Girls in Homabay. This is seen as a demotion since Kisumu Girls is a national school while the latter is an extra County school.
There are a couple of other schools on Knec’s radar over exam irregularities.
Nyamninia Secondary School in Gem- Yala Sub county of Siaya County had reported cheating in Mathematics Paper 2. This is after several candidates at the school were caught with photocopied answers of the Mathematics Paper 2 exam.
A Supervisor at the Centre was equally caught with a section of the photocopied answers. A total of thirteen Knec Contracted Professionals (Supervisor and Invigilators) were apprehended and arraigned in court.
In Nandi County, three schools were involved in cheating at the KCSE 2024 exams. The affected schools are: Kamimei Secondary School in Nandi South, Koitalel Samoei Boys school in Nandi East and Lelwark Boys school in Nandi East. The schools were put on radar after they were suspected to have interacted with national exams materials in what was reported as premature exposure.
