The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development, KICD, wishes to recruit qualified Professionals for various vacant positions as outlined below.

1. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, (HOME SCIENCE) KICD GRADE 6 ONE (1) POST

The Curriculum Development Officer, (Home Science) will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum Development:

a) Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following: 
i. Development of instruments for data collection and mapping out research areas;
ii. Undertaking data collection and analysis;
iii. Preparation of education needs assessment reports;
iv. Analysis of National Examinations;
v. Conducting activities of subject and Course Panel;
vi. Development of relevant and quality curriculum and curriculum support materials;
vii. Development of teacher training materials and orientation of teachers in Home Science and
viii. Development and review of documents for evaluation and vetting of curriculum support materials.

b) Requirement for Appointment For appointment to this grade an applicant must have: 
i. Bachelors degree in Education (Home Science) or its equivalent from a recognized institution
ii. Relevant working experience of at least Five (5) years
iii. Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in Home Science Education or related areas;
iv. Proficient in computer use and application;
v. Initiative, be a team player and highly motivated;
vi. Fulfill the requirement of chapter six of the constitution.

2. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, (MATHEMATICS) KICD GRADE 6 ONE (1) POST

The Curriculum Development Officer, (Mathematics) will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum Development:

a) Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following: 

i. Development of instruments for data collection and mapping out research areas;
ii. Undertaking data collection and analysis;
iii. Preparation of education needs assessment reports;
iv. Analysis of National Examinations;
v. Conducting activities of subject and course panel;
vi. Development of relevant and quality curriculum and curriculum support materials;
vii. Development of teacher training materials and orientation of teachers in Mathematics and
viii. Development and review of documents for evaluation and vetting of curriculum support materials

b) Requirement for Appointment For appointment to this grade an applicant must have: 
i. Bachelors degree in Education (Mathematics) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
ii. Relevant working experience of at least Five (5) years;
iii. Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in Mathematics or related areas;
iv. Proficient in computer use and application;
v. Initiative, be a team player and highly motivated;
vi. Fulfill the requirement of chapter six of the constitution.

3. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, (CHEMISTRY) KICD GRADE 6 ONE (1) POST 

The Curriculum Development officer, (Chemistry) will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum Development:

a) Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following: 
i. Development of instruments for data collection and mapping out research areas;
ii. Undertaking data collection and analysis;
iii. Preparation of education needs assessment reports;
iv. Analysis of National Examinations;
v. Conducting activities of subject and Course Panel;
vi. Development of relevant and quality curriculum and curriculum support materials
vii. Coordinate development of teacher training materials and orientation of teachers in Chemistry and
viii. Development and review of documents for evaluation and vetting of curriculum support materials

b) Requirement for Appointment For appointment to this grade an applicant must have: 

i. Bachelors degree in Education (Chemistry) or its equivalent from a recognized institution
ii. Relevant working experience of at least Five (5) years
iii. Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in Chemistry or related areas
iv. Proficient in computer use and application;
v. Initiative, be a team player and highly motivated;
vi. Fulfill the requirement of chapter six of the constitution.

4. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, (COMPUTER STUDIES) KICD GRADE 6, TWO (2) POSTS

The Curriculum Development officer, (Computer Studies) will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum Development:

a) Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following: 
i. Development of instruments for data collection and mapping out research areas;
ii. Undertaking data collection and analysis;
iii. Preparation of education needs assessment reports;
iv. Analysis of National Examinations;
v. Conducting activities of subject and Course Panel
vi. Development of relevant and quality curriculum and curriculum support materials
vii. Coordinate development of teacher training materials and orientation of teachers in Computer Studies and
viii. Development and review of documents for evaluation and vetting of curriculum support materials

b) Requirement for Appointment For appointment to this grade an applicant must have: 
i. Bachelors degree in Education (Computer Studies) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
ii. Relevant working experience of at least Five (5) years;
iii. Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in Computer studies or related areas;
iv. Proficient in computer use and application;
v. Initiative, be a team player and highly motivated;
vi. Fulfill the requirement of chapter six of the constitution.

5. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, (HISTORY AND GOVERNMENT ) KICD GRADE 6 ONE (1) POST
 

The Curriculum Development Officer, (History and Government) will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum Development:

a) Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following: 

i. Development of instruments for data collection and mapping out research areas;
ii. Undertaking data collection and analysis;
iii. Preparation of education needs assessment reports;
iv. Analysis of National Examinations;
v. Conducting activities of subject and Course Panel
vi. Development of relevant and quality curriculum and curriculum support materials;
vii. Coordinate development of teacher training materials and orientation of teachers in History and Government, and
viii. Development and review of documents for evaluation and vetting of curriculum support materials

i. Bachelors degree in Education (History and Government) or its equivalent from a recognized institution
ii. Relevant working experience of at least Five (5) years;
iii. Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in (History) or related areas;
iv. Proficient in computer use and application;
v. Initiative, be a team player and highly motivated;
vi.Fulfill the requirement of chapter six of the constitution.

6. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER PRIMARY( PRIMARY MATHEMATICS ) KICD GRADE 6 ONE (1) POST 

The Curriculum Development officer, (Primary Mathematics) will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum Development:

a) Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following:

ii. Relevant working experience of at least Five (5) years;
iii. Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in Primary Mathematics or related areas;
iv. Proficient in computer use and application;
v. Initiative, be a team player and highly motivated;
vi. Fulfill the requirement of chapter six of the constitution.

7. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICERPRIMARY- SOCIAL STUDIES, KICD GRADE 6 ONE (1) POST 

The Curriculum Development Officer, (Social Studies) will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum Development:

a) Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following:
i. Development of instruments for data collection and mapping out research areas;
ii. Undertaking data collection and analysis;
iii. Preparation of education needs assessment reports;
iv. Analysis of National Examinations;
v. Conducting activities of subject and Course Panel
vi. Development of relevant and quality curriculum and curriculum support materials;
vii. Coordinate development of teacher training materials and orientation of teachers in Social Studies and
viii. Development and review of documents for evaluation and vetting of curriculum support materials

b) Requirement for Appointment For appointment to this grade an applicant must have: 
i. Bachelors degree in Education (Social Studies) or its equivalent from a recognized institution
ii. Relevant working experience of at least Five (5) years
iii. Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in Social Studies or related areas
iv. Proficient in computer use and application;
v. Initiative, be a team player and highly motivated;
vi. Fulfill the requirement of chapter six of the constitution

8. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER PRIMARY, (ECDE PRE – PRIMARY ) KICD GRADE 6 ONE (1) POST 

The Curriculum Development officer, (ECD Pre-Primary) will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum Development:

a) Duties and Responsibilities 9 Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following: 
i. Development of instruments for data collection and mapping out research areas;
ii. Undertaking data collection and analysis;
iii. Preparation of education needs assessment reports;
iv. Analysis of National Examinations;
v. Conducting activities of subject and Course Panel;
vi. Development of relevant and quality curriculum and curriculum support materials;
vii. Coordinate development of teacher training materials and orientation of teachers in ECD Pre-Primary and
viii. Development and review of documents for evaluation and vetting of curriculum support materials.

b) Requirement for Appointment For appointment to this grade an applicant must have: 
i. Bachelors degree in Education (ECD Pre-Primary Education) or its equivalent from a recognized institution
ii. Relevant working experience of at least Five (5) years
iii. Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in ECD Pre-Primary or related areas
iv. Proficient in computer use and application;
v. Initiative, be a team player and highly motivated;
vi. Fulfill the requirements of chapter six of the constitution.

9. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – PRIMARY, (PERTINENT AND CONTEMPORARY ISSUES) KICD GRADE 6 ONE (1) POST 

The Curriculum Development Officer – Primary, (Pertinent and Contemporary Issues)will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum Development:

a) Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following: 
i. Development of instruments for data collection and mapping out research areas;
ii. Undertaking data collection and analysis;
iii. Preparation of education needs assessment reports;
iv. Analysis of National Examinations;
v. Conducting activities of subject and Course Panel;
vi. Development of relevant and quality curriculum and curriculum support materials;
vii. Coordinate development of teacher training materials and orientation of teachers in Pertinent and Contemporary Issues and
viii. Development and review of documents for evaluation and vetting of curriculum support materials.

b) Requirement for Appointment For appointment to this grade an applicant must have: 
i. Bachelors degree in Education (Pertinent and Contemporary Issues) or its equivalent from a recognized institution
ii. Relevant working experience of at least Five (5) years
iii. Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in Pertinent and Contemporary Issues or related areas
iv. Proficient in computer use and application;
v. Initiative, be a team player and highly motivated;
vi. Fulfill the requirements of chapter six of the constitution.

10.CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – PRIMARY, (SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATION – INTELLECTUAL DIFFERENT (DEAF, BLIND AND MULTIPLE DISABILITIES ) KICD GRADE 6, ONE (1) POST 

The Curriculum Development Officer (Special Needs Education – Intellectual Different (Deaf, Blind and Multiple Disabilities) will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum Development:

a) Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following: 

i. Development of instruments for data collection and mapping out research areas;
ii. Undertaking data collection and analysis;
iii. Preparation of education needs assessment reports;
iv. Analysis of National Examinations;
v. Conducting activities of subject and Course Panel;
vi. Development of relevant and quality curriculum and curriculum support materials;
vii. Coordinate development of teacher training materials and orientation of teachers in Special Needs Education – Intellectual Different ( Deaf, Blind and Multiple Disabilities) and
viii. Development and review of documents for evaluation and vetting of curriculum support materials.

b) Requirement for Appointment For appointment to this grade an applicant must have: 
i. Bachelor’s degree in Education (Special Needs Education – Intellectual different ( Deaf, Blind and Multiple Disabilities) or its equivalent from a recognized institution
ii. Relevant working experience of at least Five (5) years
iii. Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in Special Needs Education – Intellectual Different (Deaf, Blind and Multiple Disabilities ) or related areas;
iv. Proficient in computer use and application;
v. Initiative, be a team player and highly motivated;
vi. Fulfill the requirements of chapter six of the constitution.

11.CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – PRIMARY, (SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATION – PHYSICAL IMPAIRMENT (CEREBRAL PALSY ) KICD GRADE 6, ONE (1) POST 

The Curriculum Development Officer (Special Needs Education – Physical Impairment (Cerebral Palsy) will report to the Senior Deputy Director Curriculum Development:

a) Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail the following: 
i. Development of instruments for data collection and mapping out research areas;
ii. Undertaking data collection and analysis;
iii. Preparation of education needs assessment reports;
iv. Analysis of National Examinations;
v. Conducting activities of subject and Course Panel;
vi. Development of relevant and quality curriculum and curriculum support materials;
vii. Coordinate development of teacher training materials and orientation of teachers in Special Needs Education – Physical Impairment (Cerebral Palsy) and
viii. Development and review of documents for evaluation and vetting of curriculum support materials.

b) Requirement for Appointment For appointment to this grade an applicant must have:
i. Bachelor’s degree in Education Special Needs Education – Physical Impairment (Cerebral Palsy) or its equivalent from a recognized institution
ii. Relevant working experience of at least Five (5) years
iii. Demonstrated professional competence in curriculum development in Special Needs Education – Physical Impairment (Cerebral Palsy) or related areas;
iv. Proficient in computer use and application; v. Initiative, be a team player and highly motivated;
vi. Fulfill the requirements of chapter six of the constitution.
