National Dialogue Committee’s final report, recommendations; Raila to benefit

NATIONAL DIALOGUE COMMITTEE FINAL REPORT.

Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga could soon be appointed by President William Ruto, should the National Assembly pass the recomendations by the National Dialogue Committee.

This was after the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) on Saturday, proposed the establishment of the offices of the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Official Opposition in a bid to enhance national unity.

1. Evaluation of the 2022 General Election Process

2. The IEBC reconstitution selection panel be expanded from 7 to 9 members.

3. Presidential election petition to be heard and determined within 21 days from 14 days.

4. Legal reforms passed less than 18 months before the general election to take effect in the next electoral cycle.

5. On the cost of living, all arms of government to cut travel expenditure by 50%.

6. SRC to review daily subsistence allowances for state and public offices with an aim of reducing the cost by 30%.

7. Road maintenance levy and fuel anti-adulteration levy to be reduced by Ksh 5 and 3 respectively.

8. All devolved functions to be transferred to county governments fully.

9. Equitable share to the county governments to be not less than 20% of the total collected revenue.

10. NGCDF, NGAAF and Senate Oversight fund to be entrenched in the constitution.

11. Ward Development Fund to be established by Statue,

12. Establishment of the Office of the Opposition Leader with two deputies.

13. Entrechnment of the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary in the Constitution.
