A Spot light on Ng’iya Girls’ Basketball team.

The mention of Nyanza Girls’ Secondary schools basketball brings to the fore of one team; Ng’iya Girls High school. Among other emerging and established top guns in the region, one will not fail to mention the Siaya based school.

The girls remain unbeaten in 2024; so far!

Ng’iya Girls High School won the maiden edition of Eliud Owalo Foundation – Nyanza Region Basketball Festival played on March 2nd to 3rd at Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground in Kisumu.

The Siaya-based girls-only national school crushed Tuk Jowi Girls 63-38 to clinch the much-hyped basketball trophy. It was not the first time the two perceived arch-rivals met at the court. In 2019, Ng’iya Girls taught the Migori-based institution a hard-lesson when they beat them 46-29 in the regional semifinals.
