The Ministry of Education in Kenya has released the 2024 revised and final term dates/ calendar for all primary and secondary schools. Schools will reopen for the first term on 8th January 2024 and close on 5th April 2024 after a 13 weeks marathon.
There will be a half-term break of three days; from 29th February 2024 to 3rd March, 2024.
Schools will then resume for second term on 13th May, 2024 after the April holiday. The closing date for second term is slated for 2nd August 2024; meaning the term will last for 14 Weeks.
Term 3 will be very short and will last for 9 Weeks only; from 26th August 2024 to 25th October 2024.
There will be only two examinations in Primary schools (KPSEA & KILEA) that will run for 4 Days between 28th October 2024 and 31st October 2024.
The high stake KCSE exams will commence on 4th November 2024 and end on 22nd November 2024; for a period of 3 Weeks.
Learners will then break for the long December holidays that will last for 10 Weeks; From 28th October 2024 to 3rd January 2024.

In the new school calendar, all schools will reopen fully on January 4th 2021. This will apply to all continuing PP1 and 2; Grade 1, 2 and 3; Class 5, 6 and 7; and Form 1, 2 and 3 learners.
