Schools to be reopened on Monday – Education Ministry Announces

Schools will be re-opened Monday, August 15, 2022. This is according to the latest circular by Educations CS George Magoha

“I ordered the early closure of all Basic Education Institutions to allow for adequate preparation and conduct of the General Elections. We indicated that reopening would be on the 11th of August 2022,” says the circular, in part.

According to CS Magoha the process of tallying ballots is still ongoing at the tallying centres; most of which are public schools.

“Therefore, following further consultations, I hereby convey the Government’s decision that Basic Education Institutions will reopen from Monday, 15th August 2022,” Magoha added.

Learners will be forced to now stay at home for longer periods.
