TSC new online recruitment portal
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has confirmed that its teacher recruitment portal is facing technical difficulties making it difficult for teachers to submit their job applications.
Via a media statement, TSC promised that they are working to fix the issue and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
“We regret to inform you that we are currently experiencing technical challenges affecting the teacher recruitment portal. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and kindly request your patience as we work diligently to restore the portal as soon as possible,” TSC said via its Social Media Platforms.
This comes just a day after the commission announced the recruitment of teachers on permanent and pensionable terms of service to fill 46,000 vacancies.
TSC said the available posts are 6,000 posts for primary schools, 39,550 posts for junior secondary schools, and 450 posts for secondary schools.
To qualify for recruitment, TSC said, a candidate should be a Kenyan citizen and must be a holder of a minimum of a P1 certificate in the case of primary schools and a minimum of a diploma in education in the case of junior secondary and secondary schools.
Additionally, the commission said a candidate must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.
“Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Teacher Service Commission website, tsc.go.ke under ‘Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke,” TSC stated.
However, since then, applicants have complained that they have been unable to submit their applications after encountering technical difficulties on the commission’s portal.
It is expected kthat the Commission will now extend the application deadline to allow all applicants to submit their applications.
TSC has at the same time released new recruitment guidelines that favour currently serving intern teachers.
