Education CS Ezekiel Machogu has said over 26.6 million Kenyans have sat for KCPE examination since 1985 to 2023

The KCPE was first examined in 1985 after an education reform of 1984 which introduced the 8-4-4 system of education.

Education PS Bellio Kipsang added that over 70% of adult Kenyans are products of KCPE

A total of 1,406, 557 candidates sat for 2023 KCPE examinations.

The release of 2023 KCPE examination marked the end of KCPE era which was characterized with high level of completion among leaners and learning institutions
