The Kenya National Examinations Council Knec has made a number of changes in the administration of the KCSE exams.
NEW CHANGES
*Container opening for 1st session papers 7.00am.
*Open the packet 5mins to start of the paper eg 7.55am
*2nd session – container opened at 12.30pm, packets opened at 1.55pm.
*1st session packet paper colours – yellow 🟡 or beige and 2nd session packet papers – blue 🔵 in clour.
* Supervisors to be rotated weekly to different schools
*Clipboards are supposed to be transparent.
*Maths tables should be clean.
*transparent calculators
*CM to update daily attendance of supervisor and invigilators on daily basis.
*Practical papers*, for more than 1 session the other students to be confined. Chem teachers to do the practical, 232/231 are not supposed to do.
*Orals* – its the assessor and the candidates only in the room. Ensure the he uploads the marks before going out of the centre.
*HARDSHIP CANDIDATES*
-Dont indicate as absent
-Use the correct envelope, red♥️
*SPECIAL NEEDS*
-Done online
-1 inv per 10 candidates
*SECURITY*
-Ensure there is security when collecting and returning the papers.
-Be among the witness when opening the packets
-Autharised people only including the Knec and quaso officers monitoring the exams
– leave the gate opened but manned, anybody coming in should have a badge.
*SITTING PLAN*
-Sup to write a plan
*RETURNING OF SCRIPTS*
-A program has been made, CM to ensure that they follow the program.
*OTHER SERVICES*
-Replacement – online services offered in the knec website, create an ac in QMIS and follow the procedure.
-KNEC bookshop to buy past exam papers and answers.
*CM/D PRINC.*
-DP must be in school, payment still in discussion with the relevant authorities. NO PAY FROM KNEC.
*OPENING*.
-Open in one room and distribute to the invigilators. Count the exact no. of scripts to each invigilator as per the no. of candidates in the room.
*N/B:* 1. During administration of elective subjects, those doing can be combined in one exam room provided that they carry their desks.
2. KCSE invigilators will be picked from secondary school teachers.
