Sad News: CS Magoha is dead

Immediate former Education CS George Magoha is dead.

Professor Magoha passed on at Nairobi hospital on Tuesday January 24, 2023 aged 71 years.

Prof Magoha who is an alumnus of DR Livingstone Primary School and Starehe Boys Centre and School graduated from Strathmore College and the University of Lagos, Nigeria with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine.

Prof. Magoha served as Vice-Chancellor at the University of Nairobi and chairperson of Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) before joining the Cabinet.

Former CS Prof Magoha has passed on at Nairobi Hospital following cardiac arrest.

The CS Prof George Magoha has passed on, two days after burying his brother and a year later after burying his sibling.

The brother’s burial was set for this Saturday.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Nairobi Hospital CEO James Nyamongi, in a subsequent statement to newsrooms, said: “Professor Magoha collapsed at home and was rushed to the Nairobi Hosiptal A&E.  Efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccesful.”

It is with great regret that we announce the sudden and untimely demise of Prof. George Magoha, EBS, OGW this evening at The Nairobi Hospital.

Professor Magoha collapsed at home and was rushed to the Nairobi Hospital A&E.

Efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.
