KMTC Ikolomani Courses and Location

H.E. President Dr. William Ruto pledged to allocate more resources for the completion of Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Ikolomani Campus.

During his development tour to the Western Region on Saturday, (February 3, 2024), the President inspected the ongoing construction at the Campus, where he declared a commitment to allocate Kshs. 27 million from the national exchequer to expedite the completion of its infrastructure.

The aim is to have the Campus ready for the admission of students in the upcoming September 2024 intake.

President Ruto underscored the government’s dedication to ensuring the provision of top-notch training for healthcare professionals.

He emphasized the global demand for Kenyan healthcare workers, stating that resources are being directed towards completing the Ikolomani Campus projects to train skilled personnel for both the local and international markets.

Highlighting the government’s strategic collaborations, President Ruto noted that memoranda of understanding have been signed with several countries, including Canada, the U.S., the United Kingdom, and Australia, facilitating the export of Kenyan healthcare workers.

Accompanying the President during the inspection were National Assembly Speaker Hon. Moses Wetangula, Kakamega County Governor Hon. Fernandes Baraza, Health Cabinet Secretary madam Nakumicha S. Wafula, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Madam Mary Muthoni, KMTC Board Chairperson Mr. Joseah K. Cheruiyot, CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch, and other dignitaries.

In a separate engagement, Board Chairperson Mr. Cheruiyot, and CEO Dr. Oluoch addressed KMTC students in the region, expressing the institution’s steadfast commitment to providing a high-quality and conducive learning environment across the College.
