TEACHERS SERVICE COMMISSION
VACANCIES FOR TEACHERS DEPLOYED AS PRINCIPALS, DEPUTY PRINCIPALS, HEAD TEACHERS & DEPUTY HEAD TEACHERS IN ASAL AND HARD-TO-STAFF COUNTIES/SUB COUNTIES
The Teachers Service Commission is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 237 of the Constitution. One of its mandates is to appoint and deploy institutional administrators.
Pursuant to this mandate, the Commission invites applications from teachers deployed as Principals, Deputy Principals, Head Teachers & Deputy Head Teachers for the posts shown below in the following ASAL and Hard-To-Staff Counties/Sub Counties,
(Baringo (Baringo North, Tiaty East, Tiaty West and Marigat Sub-Counties), Garissa. Homa Bay (Suba and Mbita Sub-Counties), Isiolo, Kajiado (Mashuuru, Loitoktok and Kajiado West Sub-Counties), Kilifi (Magarini and Ganze Sub-Counties), Kitui (Mumoni, Mutitu North and Tseikuru), Kwale, Lamu, Mandera, Marsabit, Narok (Narok South, East, West and North Sub-Counties), Samburu, Taita Taveta, Tana River, Turkana, Wajir and West Pokot).
Interested candidates, who meet the required qualifications, should submit their applications online through the TSC portal – www.teachersonline.go.ke so as to be received on or before 31st January, 2023. Manual applications shall not be considered.

ADVERT NO. 16/2023: PRINCIPAL (D3/T-SCALE 13) – 25 POSTS REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Principal at T- Scale 12 (D2);
- have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
ADVERT NO. 17/2023: DEPUTY PRINCIPAL II (D2/T-SCALE 12) – 17 POSTS REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Principal at T- Scale 11 (D1);
- have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.

To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –

- have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and

To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Deputy Principal at T-Scale 8 (C3);
- have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
ADVERT NO. 24/2023: HEAD TEACHER (C5/T-SCALE 10) – 62 POSTS REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Head teacher at T-Scale 9 (C4);
- have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
ADVERT NO. 25/2023: DEPUTY HEAD TEACHER II (C4/T-SCALE 9) – 21 POSTS REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Head teacher at T-Scale 8 (C3);
- have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Head teacher at T-Scale 7 (C2);
- have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
ADVERT NO. 27/2023: SENIOR TEACHER II (C2/ T-SCALE 7) – 32 POSTS REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Head teacher at T-Scale 6 (C1);
- have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
ADVERT NO. 28/2023: DEPUTY HEAD TEACHER II (C4/T-SCALE 9) – 195 POSTS REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Deputy Head teacher at T-Scale 8 (C3);
- have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Deputy Head teacher at T-Scale 7 (C2);
- have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
ADVERT NO. 30/2023: SENIOR TEACHER II (C2/ T-SCALE 7) – 284 POSTS REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –
- be currently assigned by the Commission to perform the duties of Deputy Head teacher at T-Scale 6 (C1);
- have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
- meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution; and
- meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.
NOTE:
- Applicants shall be required to upload the letter of deployment to the current responsibility during application.
- Candidates who will be successful in the interviews shall be required to present valid Chapter six documents before they are considered for appointment.
