ABOUT THE COURSE
The bachelor of science in medical social work will not only contribute in enhancing the standards of health care services in the region, but will also help institutions of higher learning churn out razor sharp researchers. This is in line with the changing trends of healthcare services that now focus more on evidence-based practice of which medical social work education and practices embrace. The program will immensely contribute towards achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) 1, 3 and 8. These are to: “eradicate poverty in all its forms everywhere”, “ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages” and to “promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all” respectively by 2030.

LATEST COURSE REQUIREMENTS AS SET BY KUCCPS
(i) Alternative A: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics, English or Kiswahili
(ii) Alternative B: Biology Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, English or Kiswahili
b) Candidates with prior learning in Medical Social Work, Social Work, Sociology or Psychology from a recognized Institution or its equivalent as recognized by JKUAT will upon admission and request in writing for evaluation of accumulated credit for transfer upon submission of official relevant documents as per the JKUAT University CATS Policy.
