Here is the Revised 2024 School Term Dates

KNOW THE ACADEMIC CALENDAR 2024: The Ministry of Education has released the revised and final 2024 calendar for pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools as well as teachers’ training colleges.

The pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools will open for the first term on January 8, 2024 and close on April 5, 2024 after 13 weeks of learning.

In between, however, they will have a three-day half term break from February 29 to March 3, before a three-week holiday at the end of the term from April 8-26.

Term two will run for 14 weeks, commencing on April 29 and ending on August 2, with half term set for June 20-23.

The learners will afterwards go on holiday for another three weeks beginning August 5-25.

The final term of the year will last 9 weeks from August 26 to October 25, paving way for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) examinations from October 28-31.

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will afterwards run from November 4-22, amid the long December holiday that will run from October 28 to January 3, 2025.

The teachers’ training colleges, on the other hand, will open for term one from January 8 to April 5, and thereafter head on holidays from April 8-26.

Term two will open on April 29 and go until August 2, with the holidays thereafter scheduled for August 5-30.

The final term will go for 11 weeks from August 26 to November 8, before the long December holidays set for November 11 to January 3, 2025.

1. *Term One of 2022.*

3. *Term Three of 2022.*
✅Starts on _26th September to 25th November, 2022_.
✅Has 9 weeks.

➡️ _Current class *seven* will sit for KCPE from 28th Nov to 1st Dec, 2022._

➡️Current *Grade Five* will sit for *CBC National Assessment* the Kenya Certificate of Basic Education (KCBE).

4. *2023* (Next Year) in a matter of *11 months*, the Academic Calendar will *normalize*

At this time the *transition* will be as follows:-

✅Current *class eight* will be in _Form Two_.
✅Current *class seven* will be in _Form One_.
✅ Current *class six* will be in _class eight_ and sit for *KCPE at the end of the same year*.
✅Current _Grade Five_ will be in Junior Secondary School (Grade Seven.)
✅Current *Grade Four* will be in _Grade Six_ and sit for CBC (KCBE) at the *end of 2023*.
✅Current Grade Three will be in Grade Five.
✅ Current Grade Two will be in Four.
✅Current Grade One will be in Grade Three.
✅Current PP2 will be in Grade Two.
✅Current PP1 will be in Grade One.
✅Current Play School will be in PP2.

➡️Parents with children in the current class *seven* should be aware that by *Jan 2023*(next year) their children will be in *Form One*.
